2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 specs leaked on web | Fox News

First reported by Jalopnik, when you entered “Chevrolet ZO6 supercar reveal” under the link to the website it read:

“With 620 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque, the 2015 Corvette Z06 is the most advanced Corvette ever made. Read more about Chevy's supercar here.”

That’s compared to the 460 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque you can get from the 6.2-liter V8 in the standard Corvette Stingray, and the 505 hp and 470 lb-ft that the 7.0-liter V8 in the last Z06 pumped out.

Since the slip was reported, someone from Chevy removed the information, even though the cat’s now well out of the bag. Whether it was a legitimate mistake or clever marketing ploy is unknown, as is much about the new Z06.

There’s still no word on the kind of handling upgrades the car gets, or what’s producing all that power under the hood, but rumor has it that it’s a supercharged version of the Stingray’s 6.2-liter V8.

That’d be the same size and configuration as the motor in the outgoing range-topping Corvette ZR1 that was rated at 638 hp and 604 lb-ft, which begs the question:

How powerful will the next ZR1 be?

You can be sure people are already searching for the answer.
