However, his response to you pretty much shows why he's single and why I agree with the "train wreck" comment someone made earlier. There was no reason to come unhinged and fire off an "anonymous" insult. Dude should have just responded with a kind comment or taken the opportunity to open the lines of dialogue and ask to meet up sometime. Worst case? You have a date that isn't going to work out, but at least you had a date and met someone.
And it shows that he likely doesn't want to text or communicate online, because he clearly has issues with it. If he looks like that, is a firefighter, and wants to meet girls, he needs to go to the bar/club/class/gym and talk to them. That would be "adventurous," "exciting," and "YOLO." (Come on, he sounded YOLO and you all know it.)
Guys don't usually get it about woman and dating sites. It's a big deal for plenty of women to meet up with a strange (probably lecher) guy for a blind date in a place that is outside of their comfort level (or reasonably public place, safe, place). Dude needs to get over himself in that regard and stick to coffee dates or whathaveyou where you meet someone for the first time. You don't go hop a plane to Italy for a first date with someone on Match.com and climb some rocks and go parachuting into the Mediterranean.

I'd totally do that. Only because I want to travel though... meeting someone is a bonus
