Interesting, since mine only took 5-15 minutes, there is no way any of the wiring was NOT there. The mechanic was completely surprised how easy it was - he was expecting it to take 2 hours. He said he just popped the old ones out, connected the new ones, and popped them in. The only major thing was the old ones had 4 posts and the new ones only had 3, so you had to use the sticky tape. I have a Base model. Maybe I was lucky and it was prewired, but I can't imagine everyone elses not the same. Just pop one out and see if you have them, if not, then maybe take them back. I can only say what happened with mine, and no wires needed to be run for mine to work. As for the kickplates working, mine worked even though the interior lights were not set for the door open. Let me know how it works out. Look at the new pieces to see where the tabs are for taking out the old ones. He said it put a screwdriver under it (protect the car with a rag) and then pushed against the tab, and then lifted up.
