4500K is 4500K no matter how it's diced in means of 12V or electrician terms. I had this same thought process as you did about 3 years ago, until I got my MECP and 12V Certification. I have found that the average Nissan / Toyota / Lexus / Infinity all fire their HID's about 4300 K in intensity. 4500K in this regards is the measurement in Kelvin that the ballast would fire the light lumens across the media or filament in the HID bulb for this case. AS for LED's it's a bit different as their is no Filament it's a Diode. So in all relevance 200 K or 200 kelvin in temperature for color is not going to be much off in regards to the stock 4300K Temp from the hids. I am awaiting my shipment of 4500K SMD led's for my lights as well as some 5500 Test LED's to see if their is much difference at 1200K.
Hope this helps.
