Either way - my thought process behind aftermarket headers is that, I am in search of the MOST efficient way to make power. I've been doing my research and looking around, and I feel like if there is room to be had with the stock manifolds, I would definitely go that route, provided I do end up going BP or something.
Cost and time of doing aftermarket manifolds is not an objection to me. In the long run, I'll get there.

The way I look at it is that there is no point of doing headers on a stock block, unless you are really looking at squeezing every possible HP out of the kit. Since the kit with OEM headers will make power effortlessly, and a lot more than the stock block can handle, there is no reason to go aftermarket. If you are building the block after all, then it is easier to install the headers with the engine out, since you have to pull it for the build anyway.
That is my though process on this.
