Sad to hear OP. The same thing happened to my wife's Acura CL about 2 weeks ago, sad part is it happened at the parking garage at the office she works for, no cameras. Good part is i was able to polish it out by hand until i put a polisher on it in about a week when i give her a full detail (i'm a professional detailer)  . You guessed it, no note. This has become way too common.
