Just gathering some of my initial thoughts...

PROs
Love the hidden B-pillar because it cleans up the roofline so much. IMO maybe the biggest single improvement, style-wise.
Love the toggle switches.
The interior actually looks interesting, whereas previous interiors are ugly.
Love the Aston-inspired front end (which is true with other Ford cars, I always have to check out Fusion front ends when they go by).
Tail light bars are back, which you really gotta have.
Rear fender slope is growing on me, but ultimately I doubt I'll care.
That front 1/4 profile from front tip to side door is easily the best view and section.

CONs
The windshield looks like it is being eaten by the hood; I wonder what forward visibility is like when you're constantly looking under that? It really bothers me so far.
Front-end, hood still looks too much like other Ford cars. Sure, the headlamps are meaner, but the rest still look like a Fusion.
From the doors and on to the back, the sides look really boring. So far I've not found an angle that I like from that end. Which is a shame, because the parts I like most on the exterior are found on other, less defining cars.

Ultimately, though, the stories and expectation of excellent performance (greater than boss 302? huge score!) actually make me excited for a Mustang for the first time. Probably not enough to ever get one, but I wouldn't begrudge by buds if they opted for one for the handling/performance reason.
