This is exactly what I was talking about.

This is not good news.

Two (admittedly stupid) kids are dead -- not punished -- dead; a woman who probably never hurt anyone physically before in her life has blood on her hands, and I have a feeling this won't be the end of either the "Knockout Game" or of people getting shot in relation to it (deservedly -- implying actually preventing the murder of an innocent victim -- or not).

See further the T. Martin/G. Zimmerman case.

My crystal ball says: Expect more beatings, shootings, and as a "bonus", more racial profiling.

I would very much like to find out my crystal ball has bad reception...

This whole thing -- the stupid game, the shooting -- is just fvcking sad and terrible.

Oh, one more thing to consider: Who actually got shot and killed? A kid who threw a punch (dubiously deadly) or a kid dumb enough to be part of the group and only a spectator (not especially deadly).

Whether or not anyone figures the kid who threw a punch should be shot dead, what if it was someone just hanging out with them and NOT actually trying to hit anyone who got shot?

Two dead kids -- were either of them the ones actually attacking the woman?

Or is the public verdict: Guilt by association, so anyone in the group deserved to die?

Ok...

Lotta interesting comments by readers at that link...
