I think what happened there is that Nissan stopped building the "base" model GT-R. I remember when the GT-R first came out there was 2 different models. The GT-R and GT-R "Premium". I can't remember the differences but I think it was about a $10k-15k difference in price (depending on options). If you build a 2014 GT-R on Nissan's website the only non-special version/edition is the "Premium". I guess the base model GT-R wasn't selling so they ditched it.
It would be like Nissan getting rid of the base model and non-sport package touring Zs.
Any way...if I had the money I would get a Track Edition GT-R.
Nissan/NISMO brought a preproduction Track Edition GT-R in Gun Metallic to this past ZDayZ.
I have driven a GT-R and IMO it is worth the price.
