If we follow history, when the 09 z34's hit the dealer lot the prices on used 07-08 HR's took a pretty stout hit (going from 23-24k used down to low 20's within a matter of a few month and sub 20's within a year) down to low teens today.
Now that happened because the z34 was an upgrade in everything, interior trim, weight, power etc.
If the z35 delivers the same progression of upgrades (better interior, performance, etc) It would be safe to speculate that the z34 used market would see a 10-15% price drop shortly after release.
A similar phenomenon happened with the release of the C7 and is currently going on, the leftover 13's c6 vettes are sold for massive discounts (talking 15-20k off msrp), which in turn hit the used c6 market, I was tracking ebay C6 prices (similar milage years etc) since the debut of the c7 and noticed a steady decline of total sale price (in the range of 10-20% and dropping)

That's usually what happens when ANY new model comes along. The first year cars tend to hold higher re-sale values than the last year of the same model. With the 370 though, it has maintained it's value pretty well all things considering. It's a niche car to begin with. Would you expect to pay the same amount for a C7 as a C6 for example? The C6's were getting huge cuts before the C7 were announced. It's 9 years old for Christ sake and plenty of used car inventory to go around. The same can't really be said about the 370z. Relatively speaking, it wasn't anywhere near as successful as the C6 or 350z for that matter. Very few cars actually sold or were made in comparison.
