Well so I THOUGHT I loved my new Z b4....now...
First time Z owner (kicking myself for not ALWAYS having one now), two months ago I found a 2012 Silver Nismo with only 2400 miles on it and had it shipped to me. I've put a Stillen Gen 3 and short throw shifter in it for now and about 3k of stereo (and laser jammer) which desperately needs get put in. Have to say this is the most fun I've ever had driving a car!
So, for the last couple of months I've been thinking I was in love with this car when in fact I really had no idea. This past weekend my girlfriend and I took another trip to the North Georgia mountains for some fun driving. As we're getting back in the car from taking photos at an overlook... are those sports cars coming? ZOOOM! Lambo, Beemer, Ferrari, Beemer, Cobra (yes, but of course the FORD was in the back...LOL). We jump in the car and haul *** up the road to catch them!
After a few miles I see the bright yellow Mustang and get in behind him. Very twisty two lane roads with no way to pass, yet. My girlfriend can't stop talking about how ugly the Mustang is and all I can think is I WANT A WAY AROUND!
Finally the road opens up and gives us two narrow lanes on our side of the road AND IT'S ON! The Lambo pass a car it was stuck behind, The Ferrari passes the Beemer that it was behind and I zip past the Cobra and both Beemers (they seemed pretty pissed about this).
Luckily both myself and the Bright red 458 Spider made it past the same car the Lambo past as well before the road went back to one lane for us but the Lambo was GONE!
The next 10 minutes solidified my love for my new Z!
Try he may, Try he might, That Ferrari couldn't get out of my sight!!!!
Every little short shoot we came to I saw the driver looking back in disappointment as I was still tight on his ***! It was awesome! No matter how hard he tried he just couldn't shake me! This continued till some rain hit and I thought it best to back off. This isn't a closed course and while I'm all about a little sliding around I'm not looking to endanger anyone. So, the fun was over.
Now I know what some will say, that the driver didn't know what he was doing and should have left me... blah blah blah. In a straight line on open road, sure. But I spent 5 years racing professionally for HRC Europe (bikes not cars) and I know full well that HP is for shite on a tight track. Handling, braking, and driving skill rule this area! This guy didn't mind sliding is 458 and yet he still couldn't shake me.
I LOVE MY Z!!!!
[note] After the fun experience, I said to Katie; "Sweetie, I'm thinking it would have been really cool if we had that recorded." LOL So, I'm shopping cameras now!
