a rebuild costs 500 all around from the california location. why is UK charging you so much?

anyway, as someone who's gone through this. your dampers are NOT blown. i dont know the OP, nor you, but here is what i got from one of the senior engineers at KW:

Springs support the vehicle, the damper controls the movement of those springs. The damper will not necessarily move once compressed. This is true of most KW dampers.
what you can do to test it, is change it to the hardest/stiffest setting (spin the bottom setting clockwise). and push the piston as hard as you can. if it goes in relatively easy, then yes they are probably blown/leaking somewhere. if they slowly compress, but do not rebound, then you're fine. i had my front dampers reconditioned at a cost of 250 and fresh from the factory they hardly rebound, if at all.
