I don't think it would be getting hot enough to melt the - what is that layer of "plastic" laminated between the glass called?
Even if it did melt, it's between two layers of glass. It could change the refractive index of the windshield but shouldn't cause ripples.
Pics would be nice but I'm guessing it won't show up unless a very good camera is used with perfect lighting.
Edit: If the light is just right, I can see a "blurry crosshatch" on/in the side window that I assume is caused by the tint and/or UV blocker. I haven't noticed it on the windshield but assume it is the same way. This may be what the OP is seeing.
