This happens because stock Rubber Bushings bind and dont move as freely and have much more stiction than the SPL arms.
This is because the SPL arms have Spherical Bearings and these are able to move freely.

I know I would have some binding with the stock arms. But when I removed the cross bolt, and it popped up soon as I took the bolt out. Kind of took me by surprise. LOL The SPL moves nicely.
