Could be just me, but I find a top pivot pedal easier to modulate because the arc-of-travel of a top pivot gas pedal more closely matches the arc-of-travel of the brake pedal (and clutch pedal if you got one of those). I find it distracting to have to constantly adjust to the two different pedal movements, something I never seemed to have to do on top pivot gas pedals.

Wow never even noticed. Probably now that you bring it up it will drive me crazy just like the stickers on my sunvisors that never bothered me till someone brought it up.
Oh and yes my Cayman has it and maybe thats why I don't notice it in either car.
