He said he doesn't want to ever deal with them again. So I'm taking his words at face value. If that is his preference, my suggestion is to call UpRev and see what tweaks they can make for him. It sounds like his car is operational most of the time, but the occasional hiccup is causing this limping issue.
Randy and the crew are extremely responsive guys with amazing customer service, and at the very least they'd guide him in the right direction if they won't be able to look into his logs as part of an ETune fee.
It doesn't hurt to ask. There's no reason for him to put off a simple phone call.
