oil level
To get to the just of this reply; plesae check back to my original post "oil change" back in 7/21/13. From observation and experimentation, i have found that a bad oil stick reading can be in a matter of inches or feet. I use to check my oil hours or days after an oil change. the oil dip stick would read at the H mark. Since nissan was doing the the oil change; i thought this is where the dip stick was suppose to read. I would read the dip stick on level ground in my garage( the car did not roll forward or backwards) So after assuming Nissan's were the bad guys; i took out my level and check my garage floor were the car was placed to check the oil. IT WAS LEVEL. I checked another spot in my driveway. IT WAS LEVEL. But get this; two different dip stick readings. In my garage was high, in the driveway just were it was suppose to be. In conclusion; checking your oil on unfamiliar ground could get you a bad reading of the dip stick. But finding a sweet spot where you can check your oil everytime will give you the best reading.
