Default Buyer/Seller advice needed.

I recently purchased a magnetic black bumper from a member here. I was told there were only some stress fractures on the corner. The pics that I was shown, looked good.

I picked it up today from Greyhound shipping. I asked if we could insure it before he shipped it. Now, it has cracks in the corners of the bumper. They are almost all the way through the material. The bumper is in worse shape than what I have now. To make this short, the buyer is willing to refund me half of what it cost for the bumper. He stated that he couldn't insure it because Greyhound doesn't insure bumpers and that I shouldn't have to take the hit for it. The thing is, I am taking the hit for it.

What would you guys do?
