Default Does VDC hinder acceleration?

From the explanation of VDC in the owner's manual, it sounds like if the system thinks your car is going to lose traction on the road, it will reduce power to the wheels to help prevent you from losing control.

Is it possible VDC can hinder acceleration by over-correcting in a situation where there may be no risk? Should VDC be turned off during aggresive (but still safe) driving?
