I agree with this.

Much more important than changing your oil, is making sure there is oil in there. Check your oil levels more frequently, especially if you do not park in the same place regularly (which would help alert you to oil drips).

The TT car is more likely to make oil disappear. It has all the feed and return plumbing which is subject to possible leaks, and the turbochargers themselves may or may not consume oil.

For the record I go a bit longer, but I wouldn't recommend it, I would just say I seem to be getting by.
