Chris was going to pull the drivetrain out this week. After Darin ran his .38, I said what the hell, lets take it out one last time.. This motor is tired as it should be. It has been in Chris' car, we ran all those 1/4 mile runs, the one mile, multiple dyno runs and then all over again in my car without a refresh. I had our engine builder come out and listen to it while it was cold, he said "it sounds good, run it" We put the full HKS drag set up on it, changed the oil, new tires and let it rip. On the first pass, we ran the same set up that we ran the last time we were at the track. As I left, I felt the car bogg slightly and then pick up. That was a 1.36 60ft and a 8.37@182. Kean wanted to spray the second pass up to the 1/8 and then shut off the spray. We also upped the boost 2 pounds. I knew when I left it was going to be a good pass. I have never been in any car that left that hard. After that pass, I said, let's turn the NOS on all the way. By the time we let the car cool, set up the NOS, the sun had gone down and the track had cooled off. I left and spun but still ran a 8.33@185 with a horrible 1.47 60ft.. I also felt the car lay down a bit and after looking at the log, the NOS was still shutting off early. My prediction is after we get it freshen up and get the NOS dialed in, it will run 7.97-98@188 with the same 60ft. After Chris gets the videos up, watch the launch on each pass and you can see the major differences in the 60 foots..
Again, I want to thank all the guys at Boost Logic, Performance Motorsports and Clint & John for taking the time to come out and tune since Justin is out of town.
This is simply an amazing car.
