I did a spirited drive with a new 2013 M5 owner recently. He spent just over 100k ote.
The thing is nasty, spacious, brutal tone from the quad tips. His car was definitely the faster car, but not to the point of ridiculousness.
Ultimately, he spent as much time drooling over the Z as I did over the M.
The takeaway we agreed on (he is in his 30's and me in my 20's) was that the M is nasty, but for 30k the Z is still a helluva lot of car if you can drive it well.
That MUST mean something coming from an M owner!
