Looking for purchase a 370z Touring, AT, Sport Pkg, MB in South Florida. Initially, I was looking for a 2013 model (0% financing), but the only one I found that I liked was a 5/12 build>> though it had a good price ($37.5k), I didn't feel comfortable buying a car that has been sitting over 1 year on a dealer’s lot and it was a different color. In any case, as the AT MB color is very difficult to find locally, I have decided to factory order from Nissan and go for a 2014 model and even though I won’t receive until December, at least I will have the comfort that it’s a brand new car with the options and color that I want.
Right now, I’m wavering about including the factory NAV option as I think that it makes a big difference in how the car looks inside. However, my concern is the durability of the Nav unit as I plan to keep the car for a long time and would hate to have to repair it or replace it once it’s out of warranty; I have heard that the replacement cost is over $5000. My heart tells me go for the Nav unit, but my mind tells me to go aftermarket and not risk any big repair bills in the future. What do you guys think?
Also, I’m still searching for a dealer to place the order from here in S Florida. Any suggestions or past experiences with area dealers are greatly appreciated. In particular, I’m interested to know if I can still expect to get a good deal for a car that I’m ordering compared to a car at the lot? Looking at carsdirect.com, the prices for a similar equipped 2014 Touring model (with and w/o Nav) is $1000 over invoice + the dealer fees that are common here in FL ($600-700) so I would be paying @ $1700 over invoice. Reading the forums here, my goal is to pay no more than $500 over invoice including all dealer fees- is this reasonable for a factory ordered car?
Thanks for all your help! Look forward to joining the 370z club soon.
