First off it was a convertible, so right off the bat there will be more cost. The interior blows away the FRS interior, even now. The handling is better than the FRS, even now. 240 vs 200 = 20% more hp than the FRS. The engine revved to 9000rpm. Honda has a lot of justification charging what it did for the S2000.
