I have always had the best sports car I could afford from the age of 17 to present. As others have mentioned my social status has increased right along with it and any lifelong friends are used to it. So for me nothing has changed.
The only exception to this is the people I work with. Unfortunately our pay structure is fixed so we all pretty much know what each other make minus the differences in overtime. I get the vibe all the younger guys hate me, at one time I owned 4 cars (two 370s), a new zx10r, 600, and a small but nice house on a lake. I have cut back on some of my toys but now own two houses on lakes, one I now rent out, and the one we are currently living in. I can’t help it that I know how to budget our money. They all think im a drug dealer on the side.

Other than that, I love being the odd one in a little sports car

These types of people just need one more thing to brag about. I had a guy trying to trash talk me at a party and go race him in his truck because all night people were telling me how awesome my car was. I guess with the help of alcohol he finally got the balls to say something because he was jealous. His hoopty turbo diesel was claiming 600hp, which I tried to explain to him would not touch the power to weight ratio of my car but it was like talking to a brick wall. I guess he thought beating my car would make people at the party like him more than me. Even if he would of beat me I was still dancing with my hot *** wife and 3 other girls all night while he creeped in the corner so I still win.
Edit: On the midlife crisis topic......I cant WAIT to see what my midlife crisis car is.
