Burns should be the least of your problems, unless you get in a big hurry. You won't be grabbing and shaking things like you would when looking for a rattle. The parts that are really hot are putting off enough IR that you will feel the heat before you get too close. Clothing, jewelry, fingers, elbows, &c can easily get snatched by moving parts before you can blink an eye.
