I don't mean to argue with anyone here honestly, I respect 99.999999% of all of you, and I hope no one is taking it as that, just trying to have a conversation. (Not trying to single you out PureSwank, just saying in general)
Why do I have to avoid doing 5 autoX runs in a row because my power steering fluid will boil, why can't I drive the car hard without the oil boiling over in 5 minutes, why does the brake fluid boil so quickly that the car won't stop on a track? Why does my clutch get spongy and stick after a few track days, even under normal aggressive driving, how shítty is this CSC?
Lets break it down, power steering fluid doesn't boil for 99% of users, oil doesn't get to 260+ for 99% of users, and brake fluid doesn't boil for 99% of users.
The "oil cooler" and brake fluid "upgrades" were done YEARS after the car was released, and mainly due to bad press, and the bad press for the brake fluid and pads was from 2009!
They make cars for the 99%, not the 1% who are very aggressive drivers or who are more comfortable taking a long banking right at like 50MPH with 3-5 gallons of the tank left of a 19 gallon tank.
Recall, I doubt, I'd put money against, until every member calls 1-800-Nissan1 and says they're stuck on a freeway on ramp, then maybe. Until then, hell no.
(Mike, if you read this, I respect you more than a lot of other members, but when you got fuel starve at 15 out of 16 dots, that doesn't mean anything to me personally, I know my gauge, (if it ever shows full) takes almost 100 miles to drop a dot, and you get 4-5MPG on the track, meaning you filled it and within 5-6 miles you fuel starved)
Why aren't we trying to fight a more prevalent problem like the CSC that is made of plastic and gives out anywhere from 10-50k miles. And that requires the transmission to be dropped? What about, the fuel gauge issue, does ANYONE's work properly? Better yet still!!! What about the shítty paint?!?!?! Why do I have to put ugly clear bra on my car for $1000 when I just spent $40k on a car? Recall? Buy back?
The clear bra costs as much as the fix for the fuel pump, and you might be able to install it yourself, while the clear bra takes more finesse, but no one is gunning for Nissan for that. (All I'm saying is that if we're holding them accountable for this $1000, or that $1000 or that $500 or whatnot, make sure you hold them accountable for ALLLLLLLL the problems)
I think the CSC problem way more a PIA than fuel starve, and didn't someone fix fuel starve with a coffee can?
So, recall, I doubt, TSB, I doubt unless people complain enough, even then, I don't see a solution (maybe change the fuel pump if it had been run dry a few times)
Guys, see if from a cost/business point of view, it isn't worth the money to do a recall, if it effects 100 people Nissan doesn't give a fůck, they have bigger fish to fry. It isn't the majority, and it will take so much more money to fix, it isn't worth the hassle, plain and simple. Now, if you want to argue with me that why would Nissan NOT want to appease customers, again, it isn't worth the money, and as a company, NISSAN doesn't NEED you, the dealer might want you, but Nissan doesn't need you, sorry to break it to you guys like that.
Going forward, want a solution, call corporate, tell them you fuel starved, get everyone on the forum to do so, MAYYYYBE you'll get that TSB. (This is a hypothetical, and GOD FORBID it happens to anyone here, but) Want your recall quickly, fuel starve and get killed or badly injured and have it on the news, that'll get a recall quick, remember the Toyota thing that wasn't even Toyota's fault? They got the recall in a week (the guy was lying btw)
Again, not trying to be the ŕsshole here, I'd buy you all a beer if I could (I bought a beer for a member who I've never talked to because I saw on the calendar that it was his birthday, lol), you're all considered family in my books. I'm just calling it the way I see it.
