I would love to make the Wednesday deal since it's only $15, but seeing as I work in the east bay, I'd probably do a Saturday afternoon. Also, since I'm driving up from Manteca, how are the facilities? Can I bring the fam? Is it comfortable as a spectator, or will they be bored on metal bleachers for four hours?

I live about 3 minutes from the track myself and have an extra large helmet if you'd like to borrow it. Saturdays are better because they actually prime the track and get it all nice and sticky. Wednesday night is primarily open drag night they don't do as much track preparation as they do on Saturdays. As far as the families concern there isn't much to do other than sitting around on the metal bleachers. They do have a decent snack bar and the kids can ride their bikes in the back pit behind the bleachers. They do have bleachers are right next to the starting line so if the kids like cars that might be kind of fun for them but I'm not sure for hours would be fun. In my neighborhood which is right down the street from the tracks there are several parks they go play in if they wanted to get away.
As far as track etiquette is concerned, it's pretty much the same as any other track. Since you've done test and tune in Tucson you should be fine with the same kind of etiquette here on Saturdays verses Wednesdays where you have a mix of professional and novice drivers. Also on Wednesdays it's cheaper to get in compare to Saturdays because of the track prep that they do. Let me know if you'd like to borrow the helmet and I'll send you my phone number.
