The Rev seemed like a very zany person (hence A Little Piece of Heaven) and that showed in the writing. I think this new album is a straight up, better-than-anyone-else-can-do-it in this day and age, display of classic and modern metal. Especially when modern bands either produce cookie cutter mainstream hard rock or muddy, distorted screamo. For instance, there are a lot of modern rock bands, but they just about all sound like sevendust or slipknot.

I personally like the back to basics riffing style of this album. It'll add another dimension to their live shows thats for sure.

Only thing Im worried about is replayability. I can replay city of evil through carry-on all day everyday, and I do, but thats because its so intriguing. The new stuff... only time will tell but I have hope.
