its very hard to find Z34 weight comparisons from jdm to US BUT was easy to show the difference on the z33. As a general theory that the japanese versions of this car is lighter is supported through seperate articles on each car.

One showing the fairlady to be around 1480kg = app. 3200 lbs which is shown in j garage.
And wiki search of the american car shows to be over 1600kg= app 3500lbs.
This supports what I stated about my friends fairlady being lighter than the 350z and also shows here a probability of this being possible with the Z34.

You wanted links. U got em.
As I stated my friends car was somewhere around 288lbs lighter. These 2 sights support what I said.
You might want to do a bit more research. The 350Z coupe weighed anywhere from 3188 to 3400 lbs (there was a 150 lb gain and corresponding HP boost in 2006). The only Z that weighed anywhere near 3500 lbs was the Roadsters (according to the WIKI, BTW). You are also comparing apples to oranges when you use an export garage's numbers because he's trying to sell you something. I'd trust Nissan's own numbers a bit more.
