I think there will be engine options, and a name not designated by engine size. This is a complete, outlandish guess, but it seems most appropriate with Nissan's current pricing direction.
The 370z is clearly trying to becoming less of a high/middle class sports car. I could forsee a future where the Z has a more 'budget' iteration that can compete with the i4T Gencoupe and the new IRS v6 Mustang. I do however think that Nissan would maintain a powerful v6 in addition to the i4.
Just my 2 cents, that's the kind of design direction I imagine is being thrown around corporate Nissan right now.
