I thought we were talking about Chevys that you can't even drive off the lot? Crap paint... or in this case... a completely non-operational truck. Man... that sure is a tough one. Typically I buy my vehicles to drive, not to look at. Especially in the case of a TRUCK. Trucks are built to get dinged and abused because they're TRUCKS. You run over things and carry things around.
BTW - the Frontier has been at the top of its class for a long time, and this year it beats the Tacoma is towing and off-roading capability. You know... truck things. It is a solid truck. While Nissan paint sucks, let's not over-exaggerate here. Every manufacturer has defective products from time to time. I would say in the grand scheme of things, Nissan has done well, especially with the Frontier. (The Titan is a different story that includes getting effed over by Dodge, but that is a separate story).
OP's situation is the second I've heard happening with Silverados in the past year. Major mechanical failures within the first 500 miles.
