The point I was trying to make was, that if your only going to put on the aftermarket CAI , your HP returns will be only marginal and may be even less than stock , if the car hasn't been remapped or tuned properly. You also need to buy the best complete racing or street legal exhaust to fully achieve significant gains with the aftermarket CAI systems.
I would agree that the atermarket CAI would be very helpfull how a car that didn't come stock with a factory CAI , like a pick up truck etc.
But on the cars that have factory installed CAI returns, then the gains are only marginal.

This is not correct. You see the most gains from a CAI prior to any other mods.... Once you put on others, such as Exhaust, the results from a CAI are smaller than if the CAI was your only mod... Meaning, if you put on a CAI as your only mod, the HP will be around 10 - 15. If you put on an exhaust, and then later add a CAI, the gains from adding the CAI will be like 5 -6 HP or so...
