For normal driving, the manual recommends 7500 miles. Most people on the forum do it sooner. The thinking behind doing one right after break-in is that the oil will have higher concentrations of metals due to the break-in process, and rather than let those metals circulate with your oil for nearly a full oil change interval, best to empty that stuff out, put in fresh oil, and begin your normal oci. I try to do it every 5K miles, but if I put a few extra miles on it before I find the time to do the oil change it's not a big deal.[/QUOTE]
You are incorrect. There are two types of service intervals. Schedule A: if you are doing a lot of in town driving like stop signs and traffic lights or sitting in heavy traffic it is 3750. Schedule B: If your driving consists of streamlined driving where you are not sitting for long periods of time you can opt to service option B at 7000 intervals.
Im surprised no one read this in their owners manual, there is a lot of good info in there.
