Get an estimate from a body shop or dealership and submit to adjuster. He or she should cut you a check less your comprehensive coverage deductible. The adjuster needs some proof for their file. They want to close their file just as bad as you want the money. I'd suggest that you have a body shop check the car for damage from the theft before I'd sign off on the claim.
While you may not be happy with the adjuster, pissing them off won't get you anywhere. They got the checkbook!
