Dry filters offer the same filtrations as a stock filter, the issue with K&N filters is that people do not know how to properly clean and oil them. I can't tell you how many cars I've had to remove the MAF and clean due to a heavy oil coating which leads to a heavy dust coating that cause the sensor to cause a higher than expected resistance, dumping extra fuel, ect ect.
