Can't believe I missed this thread upon revival! I love golf. I've always loved golf. About 8 years ago, I had 2 sets of clubs stolen out of my apartment storage. I had a drought after that because I wasn't willing to throw down for new equipment. I finally received a decent set of Cleveland irons (4-PW) for Christmas from my grandparents and my wife bought me an awesome University of Texas golf bag. I picked up a $25 Wilson 5 wood that I can blast ~250 yards without effort, a $50 550cc Green Monster driver from Golfsmith that works fine for my casual purposes, and a $15 68 degree wedge.

I average probably 2-3 rounds per year, so I'm way behind where I want to be. But after ~5 years without playing at all, I am making the best of it. My typical round these days is mid-90s with a birdie or two, a couple of unmentionables, some very nice shots, some terrible 3 putts, and 6-8 beers. I haven't broken 90 since before the drought, and I haven't broken 85 since high school. But I still have a blast every time I play.

I'm hoping to play Newport Dunes (an Arnold Palmer course) in Port Aransas, TX in August when I'm at the beach for vacation. And I also hope to play Laurel Hill in Lorton, VA during a business trip to Fort Belvoir in September.
