That's a thing that actually happened in this movie.
tl;dr if you take it as camp like the old godzilla movies, ignore the stupid subplots and tune your brain out, it's fun as hell to watch robots punch seamonsters but you really need to turn your brain off or there are a lot of little things that will drive you nuts. |
I saw this the other day myself. While you are completely accurate in your write-up, I cant help but say, "Dude...giant robots fighting huge monsters..." It's the latest version of Independence Day, and that isn't an insult in the slightest. It was a completely moronic movie to watch for plot, but the effects were fantastic and it was fun. I went in with my brain off and came out smiling.
