Specific Question About Sport Rotors
So tomorrow I'm going to change the pads on my sport package. (Just standard street pads...) I'm not planning on changing my rotors because I don't believe they're in need of replacement. I just had the wheels off the other day, and there's no scoring/rough edges, and there's no evidence of warping. I don't drive the car very hard and don't abuse the brakes.
My question is if anyone has ANY idea what the minimum thickness is for the stock sport rotors. I'd like to be thrifty and not chuck good rotors, but I also don't want to be unsafe and drive on rotors that are too thin. I'm the second owner of the car, and I've put about 16k miles on it, (for a total of about 62k) so I don't know how many miles are on the rotors total. When I bought the car the dealership rated their life at 9/10, but regardless I'd like to check them out with a micrometer to be sure. That said, there's no point if I don't know what the limitations are.
If anyone knows I'd appreciate the help! Thanks!
