I would be careful putting too much faith in meth being a reliable safety blanket for a stock engine. Certainly meth injection will decrease the likelihood of detonation, which is one major source of engine failure. However, even if you do not have any detonation, increasing the power level of a stock block with meth will still start to push you up against the limits of the stock parts. Too much power is too much power quite independently of detonation. I'm not suggesting that meth isn't a good idea, only that meth is no substitute for a built engine if you want to go for big numbers.
