In the Evo that's a different story it has a slightly smaller displacement than the STI by about .5 liters but has a bigger turbo to help it on the top end.

I had a 04 modded out stock turbo Evo 8 and it took out alot of cars from a 30mph roll. My last race was against a Gallardo on the beltway going over 100+mph and he did not pull an inch away from me on top end, and at that time my car dyno'd only around 376whp @24psi around 5500rpm. Though the reading was low that pull was done in 3rd at 5500rpm, the car pulls like a beast up top for a stock turbo. I can hit 120mph in 4th at extactly 7200rpm. So that's why I don't agree with the above statements.
maybe u r right . because i didnt own evo but this what i felt from testing it and people who owned evo told me . but it is a greet car
