I had to do this the other night after a storm showed my friend that he had a leak in the roof. I crawled up with him in the attic to find the location of the leak, and after getting halfway through I stopped for a second to get a better position. I looked down at the area I had just come through and realized that there were nests of brown widow spiders in every corner of the rafters, inches away from where I had been putting my hands. I counted 9 total, all about 1.5-2 inches across.
