This can especially happen with high flow cats. Lean make more power but you run a risk of detonation in the engine. The best thing to do is to take it to a shop with a dyno and have the car tuned. They can adjust the mixture through the rpm band and keep it from happening.

So we'll see. I wonder how bad it is to just keep driving it as is. Maybe the 110+ temps are getting to it?
