I've had some pretty interesting experiences so far from onlookers driving my 2010 MB Nismo.
Bought the car in Miami FL last summer and drove it all the way home to MI with my wife. I had the TPMS light come on driving through the Everglades. Stopped in at the Naples FL Nissan dealership to have it checked out. Couldn't believe how many of the salesmen rubbernecked as I drove by to the service dept.
Same trip home on I 75 in FL, had a 18 -21 yo pass me in his blue 350z. As he passed by, he stuck his head and neck out the window staring backwards a good 6 car lengths past me smiling ear to ear before he pulled his head back in.
Multiple people passed taking pictures with cell phones. My wife was asking what is the deal with all these people staring. I said "This is the flagship car for all Z fans".
Since being home with the car the past year I've had:
A guy come racing up on me comes along side me and slows down. Does the heavy look over on the car. Then he makes the "hang loose" thing with his hand and continues to pass. His exit comes up pretty quickly. Rolls down his window, sticks his hand out doing it again and start's screaming "Wooohooo.. Yeah" about 5 times.
The staring as people pass by is pretty common anymore. Still get the cell phone photos.
Best one to date, I was driving on US -12 through a small town. A group of 4 teens was walking on the sidewalk coming toward me. A boy in the lead comes to a dead stop. His jaw drops open. He stares and twists his body as I slowly go by passing by.
