You guys gotta check this out. These guys are trying to constructively criticize the z but it's just bashing because all points are overly subjective.
1. They are stressing bloated looking design
To each his own, but people are negating that from a quality stand point the Z looks leagues more expensive than it's competition. From the direct front view the Z does look bloated. Rear to front, it looks muscular. And it's the most muscular affordable jdm, i've seen since the GT-R.
2. Weight..
People keep talking about the Z being heavy. And this is the most unrealistic set of opinions I read when it comes to the Z. The only 6 cylinder that's lighter than it is the porsche Cayman. $33k vs $58k. The v8 corvette which is out of it's power league is the only other one. Both porsche and vette weigh in the 3100lb range. The rest of the v6 competition weighs 3500-3800lbs. We weigh 3300. I would like the next Z to be lighter too but what ever happened to common sense?
The FR-S is a 4 banger with no equipment, like BBK, Forged 19's etc... plus its a 4 banger. of course it will be lighter. It's unreasonable that people expect a 400z that weighs 2800lbs. Like really?
3. Gas mileage.
This is the only area where people bring a valid point. 26mpg highway for a 300hp v6 is not great. but it's not terrible. True, Gm is doing it with 100 more hp. But v6 was originally designed to be a sub 300hp engine. We are now pushing the limits and this is why I a strong proponent of forced induction for the future. But I also feel... If you're looking at sports cars and your top 3 in complaints is gas mileage? You should be blogging about Honda fits and mazda 2's. Not Z's and corvettes. Thats my rant.
