I appreciate the insight from the law enforcement perspective.

My post was not intended to complain about getting caught for the violation but rather to call to attention this law for the Californians. Based on research after getting the ticket, the same law was only introduced in California in 2010. And given what I see every day in So Cal, it's not widely known or at least followed. I certainly missed it when it came out.

While I would normally slow down and moved the car to the left side of my lane away from the shoulders, without knowing this law, I seldom ever make a complete lane change.

It was an expensive lesson that I learned so I wanted to share with everyone. And hopefully, keep a few police officers safe plus saving fellow Z owners some cash.....so you guys can lose it all to the Vegas casinos.
