09 nismo #184
Hey Everybody,
Long time Z Lover, but only recently joined the forums. I recently bought NISMO 09 #184. Mint Condition, Garage Kept, and only 3,800 miles (nope, I didn't forget to include a "0") for well under 30K. Previous owner is an Awesome dude for letting it go to me as I'm sure he had much better offers from other buyers.
Here are a few highlights from trip to pick her up:
Yesterday I flew from Virginia to Ohio to pick up the car. 10.5 hours back to Virginia Beach. Let me tell ya, there is nothing like taking a road trip with your dream machine!
She has an aftermarket touchscreen DVD player installed. I was two hours into my trip before I figured out how to connect my iPhone lol. I saw 2 loose wires coming from the amp and thought they needed to be plugged in. I plugged them in and the "Service Engine Soon" indicator came on! A quick systems check and nothing else seemed to be wrong. Think it might be a grounding issue with the stereo or a blown fuse.
(When you wash your windshield, does your windshield wipers automatically come on? Or do you have to turn them on after you've sprayed washer fluid on it?)
2 folks tried to race me. One was a junkie Ford truck. (I didn't realize he was trying to race me until he blew pass me as I turned off to my exit lol) The other was a base mustang. I'm guessing that I will experience more of this the more I drive my car. Personally, neither of those cars were worthy and Honestly, I'm a chicken.
Did I mention that it was foggy and rainy 50% of the trip. At some points it was the worst I'd ever seen.
As it was getting dark, about 2 hours from home in Virginia, the rain was just a drizzle. A lady in a Honda Pilot ahead of me hit a deer and pulled into the emergency lane. What do you do when you see someone up ahead in the emergency lane?
A. Move over to the fast lane to provide them some safety room.
B. Pull over and help.
Since I was going 75, I moved to the fast lane. Guess what was waiting for me there.....a dead deer!
There was no time to do anything. I skinned it.
Pulled over and popped the fender back in and checked the bottom. All I could see was meat hanging from the bottom, so I pulled into the next rest stop.
Fur and unidentifiable meat. Besides the fender that popped out, I think there is some type of instillation covering that was torn. (Don't know really what it is) Smells horrible! Went to the car wash today and did an undercarriage wash and manually sprayed it. Smells better, but still noticeable. Going to drop it off at Nissan Monday to get it all sorted out.
Be that as it may, I loved every minute of the 10.5 hour drive home.
P.S. I can post pics from under my car....don't want to break any rules...if there are any for being gross.
