it's not recommended since you dd the car in the rain and rain traction will be very different between different tread patterns & compound, especially on a colder day... if you drive only dry, then you can do it usually with not much side effects as long as one breaks in the tires and is only driven casually.

having sticky tires in the rear is fine. i think in your case it's do-able if money is tight. just dont get super crappy tires and try to take corners too fast. you will most likely understeer and plow into a tree or light post or mailbox or dumbarse cyclist
or even a prius
