Default apartment complex ideas on garage gear and self-maintenance

I live in an apartment complex and I rent out a garage. While the garage does get my car out of site for the night or for storms/weather, it doesn't afford me much else at the moment.

Does anyone have any experiences or suggestions for:

- non-permanently outfitting the garage? For instance, storage ideas, movable floor coverings (my garage floor is damp for days after a heavy rain). Some adjustments are fine, like throwing nails/hooks into the wood planking on the sides.

- doing work on your car in your apartment complex lot/garage? Do you go somewhere else? Do you do simple non-messy things like pad replacements there? I understand my apartment mgmt (whom I'm on very friendly terms with) will have their own hard-and-fast rules.

And if so, what sorts of home gear should I get first?

The worst part may be that I have an overhead light and switch, but no electrical outlets at all.

I've not had the bug to get my own home/property until now.
