from what i understand most of the noise isnt from the trany or clutch "the rattle" although its located there as far as sound goes. its because of the rest of the drive train. the lighter it is, the more noise it makes. this goes all the way from the fly wheel to to the rear coupling on the drive shaft. this also has a carbon fiber "partial" drive shaft. less rotational mass means its easier to torque around and change direction, so when you engage and disengage the clutch and try to get the car to move these parts shutter because they are lighter. trust me, swap to a lighter flywheel and the noise will be 10X worse. the Z isnt the only one that does that, next time your beside a vette, listen. them and many other cars do it too. its just easier to hear on our car because we dont have a big noisy V8 going RAWR RAWR RAWR all the time covering all the other sounds the car makes.
